There is this kid at my work who has a English accent for no good reason.

Actually he has a perfectly good reason, he was raised by British reenactors.  Yeah, shit like that happens in Massachusetts.

So basically I tend to forget about it because I’ve known him a long time and we don’t work at the same part of the museum anyway.

But the last day of our volunteer living history program (he was in the back yard doing redcoat things) we had a group of visitors come in raving about our completely authentic British regular, and how cute it was that he must have been embarrassed about actually being British because he was trying to hide his accent.  And I had to explain to them that no, that’s just his voice, actually he is one hundred percent American, and we are all just really fucking weird around here ok.
